In recent news in the NFL world, Alvin Kamara is expecting to face a 6 game suspension from the Pro Bowl incident that occured. For those who don’t remember, Kamara was charged with felony battery at a hotel in Las Vegas for allegedly breaking a male’s eye socket.
The Saint’s are already in enough trouble with the huge quarterback question involving Jameis Winston or Andy Dalton starting and now here we are wondering who will take the first reps at running back. Mark Ingram is second in command on the Saints depth chart and we know the potential he can bring to the table. The primarily goal line back is a bull but the offensive line is shaky at best. Ingram signed this offseason back with the Saint’s after being a running back at Houston with splitting carries among 3 other running backs.
Tony Jones Junior is the interesting running back on the Saints depth chart who saw carries behind Kamara last season when Kamara went down with injuries. Jones showed flashes of upside and bursts of speed taking first team reps. If all else fails for the team, Taysom Hill could take the goal line carries away from Ingram if Ingram is a shell of himself. The Saint’s run game is a possibility of solutions.
Kamara who is the lead man of the team with Drew Brees retired now is bracing for the suspension as he knows it is headed his way. I hope Kamara learned his lessons from the previous incident and rallies the troops on the Saint’s to a winning NFL season. Do we see Kamara suit up at the beginning of the season or do we see him face the suspension in the middle of the season?
