UFC 273 DK DFS Breakown

Alexander Volkanovski VS Chan Sung Jung- Main Event! Heck of a fight! The Zombie verses the goat! Both fighters are coming off of good wins. The Zombie is a great striker and that is his game point. Volk is going to be in a striking battle with the Zombie. I do think though Volk is all around the better fighter who can land a knockout shot against Zombie. The power from Volk is there and I love his boxing including the grappling on the mat.

Pick- Volk

Aljamain Sterling VS Petr Yan- The rematch! Yan is a striker and man he can be all over you. He is explosion on the feet and will go out. Yan has a chin on him. Sterling will have to clip him in order to win this fight. I don't see Sterling winning this fight in any way. Yan can handle this fight with ease, and he is ready to hurt Sterling in a massive way.

Gilbert Burns VS Khamzat Chimaev- Huge massive explosive fight! Chimaev can pick any up and destroy fighters. Chimaev barely takes any hits, and he just steamrolls fighters. He ends fight super quick and the cardio has been worked on. Burns is not ready for this fight despite he good wins. Burns can get knocked out like we saw against Usman. Plain and simple Chimaev.

Mackenzie Dern VS Tecia Torres- Great fight. Dern is a massive grappler and can hang with anyone on the mat. Torres has all the tools to be a great fighter. She has worked daily with Pennington. Both fighters are huge in the game, and this is a massive fight. Torres is on a three-fight win streak. Dern though has fought great fighters and has wins in the submission game mostly. If Torres stays on the feet, she will tear up Dern because Dern does not have the striking game. Do you go for the grappler in Dern or Torres on the feet? I am taking Torres here.

Kelvin Gastelum VS Dricus Du Plessis- Newly added fight to the card! Huge fight. Plessis is a fighter who is crazy on his feet, he has massive power in his striking. Plessis is 2-0 in the UFC and knocking both fighters out. Gastelum has been on a downfall lately. Plessis is stepping up here. Gastelum has fought the best of the best, but I am liking the ability of Plessis here.

Aspen Ladd VS Raquel Pennington- Quality fight! Pennington has had up and down career, she has had some good wins though. Ladd is coming off a loss but has been all over the place in her career. Ladd is in shape and has good cardio overall, all around good fighter in the striking or grappling. This is going to be a boxing matchup. Give me Pennington to prove her worth in this fight.

Ian Garry VS Darian Weeks- This is going to be a combative fight. Weeks lost his debut fight in the UFC, but he is super experienced in the outside scene of the UFC. Weeks wants this win. Garry though is a massive fighter, and he has been putting in the work overall, he is the heavy betting favorite. Garry is a paced fighter who is overall well rounded, the record speaks for itself. I think Garry is the better fighter and he has knockout potential.

Anthony Hernandez VS Josh Fremd- New fighter alert! Fremd the newcomer is stepping to fight Anthony! Hernandez is a massive fighter, and he can use his submission game in any fight. Fremd has had good wins in the outer scene despite him having some downfalls. This is going to be back and forth on the feet. Fremd has been preparing for this fight. Hernandez will have his work cut out for him and Fremd wants this fight. I do like Hernandez to get the W.

Jairzinho Rozenstruik VS Marcin Tybura- Big boy's time! Both fighters are coming off losses. Tybura is coming off fighting one of the best in the division and it was a tough fight for him, previous fights though he has looked amazing. Rozenstruik has massive wins with his knockout power despite the big losses. Rozenstruik has the striking power and think he is much better on the feet rather than Tybura. I am just overall leaning towards Rozenstruik handling business, but I do think Tybura comes in great shape.

Mickey Gall VS Mike Malott- Not a bad fight. This is a huge fight for both fighters. Gall is coming off a loss but has been on win/loss streak. Malott is making his UFC debut in this fight. Gall though is a striker and working on his grappling. Malott looked great on DWCS and a striking coach. I am loving Malott to be honest and feel like his debut will be crucial.

Julio Arce VS Daniel Santos- Great underrated fight. Santos is here and there fighter making his debut in the UFC. He is a great striker that he has and putting in the work the best he can. Santos can also bring the leg kicks into the game. The submission skill is there for him also. Arce is no pushover on the boxing aspect and the striking is good. Arce has the better odds in this fight, but I am not counting out Santos here. I love this fight overall in the striking aspect.

Vince Pichel VS Mark Madsen- The coach aka not Cub Swanson! Pichel is active here and there in the game. Madsen is no pushover, and he is a huge grappler. Madsen though last fight has me worried. That is the main thing that is swaying me away from Madsen in this fight until I see something more out of him. Pichel can do it all in the cage including stuffing Madsen's takedowns attempt.

Piera Rodriguez VS Kay Hanse- First fight! Piera is coming off of DWCS and Hanse has looked good in the UFC so far. Piera has the striking and the grappling that has looked good. She is all around has good game. Hanse is an excellent grappler. She has lost two fights in a row but there is still talent there. The takedown defense does worry me for her. This fight is at even odds and I am liking Piera to bring the game to her.
