UFC Fight Night Spivak vs Lewis DK DFS Breakdown

Derrick Lewis vs. Sergey Spivak

The Main Event! Spivak is going to come in wanting to grapple while Lewis is going to try to use his power. Spivak will try to work around the power of Lewis. All it takes is one shot by Lewis but I am trusting Spivak to take down Lewis any moment in time. The worrisome part is Lewis is getting older and his recent form has been off. Spivak will be able to work the body and take care of business. I know this is a step up in competition for Spivac but he has earned this fight.

Ion Cutelaba vs. Kennedy Nzechukwu

The CO-Main Event! Kennedy is a great prospect coming into the cage as a southpaw-style of a fighter. Kennedy has good striking and his grappling is improving by far along with his cardio. Ion is crazy in the cage and is super boom or bust. It is very hard to trust Ion despite having power. The cardio is all over the place for Ion also. I trust Kennedy in this fight by far based on his overall game. The path to victory is taking down Ion for Kennedy.

Chase Sherman vs. W. Cortes-Acosta

Another heavyweight fight! Waldo is a boxer in the cage and that is his fighting history. Sherman is decent on the feet and the leg kicks will be able to hurt Waldo who has trouble defending them. Waldo just fought two weeks ago and hurting by far. Sherman has all the tools to win this fight and hurt Waldo even more. Give me the underdog in Sherman.

Muslim Salikhov vs. Andre Fialho

Muslim is the older fighter in the cage and has power in his hands. Muslim is a one-two puncher who can knock out someone with his power. Fialho is not a durable fighter and that is the worrisome part of his game. If Muslim can hit him a few times and rock the body of Fialho, Muslim will be able to handle him.

J. Maddalena vs. Danny Roberts

Maddalena is a prized striker and one of my favorite fighters to watch in the cage. Roberts worries me on the feet where he freezes up. Jack has all the energy and power to win this fight easily. Jack should have no issues here winning this fight.

Z. Zhumagulov vs. Charles Johnson

Both of these fighters are going to need a win badly. Zhumagulov is coming off of two losses. Zhumagulov has power and decent on the feet but his UFC path has not been great. Charles is going to want this win to get his first win in the UFC. Charles is going to push the pace and fire his striking quickly. I am liking Charles to earn this win by just his pure energy in the cage.

Jennifer Maia vs. Maryna Moroz

Mai is coming off two losses which are huge for her because of how good the fighters were she lost to. Moroz is making her impact felt in a huge way. Moroz is an all-around good fighter with striking and grappling. Maia I think can handle this fight though and prove why she can fight with the best of the best, especially at underdog odds.

Miles Johns vs. Vince Morales

I am liking this fight in a huge way. Johns is coming off a loss but he has great skills in the cage. Morales is talented and coming off a loss also. This fight is going to be a battle where it will come down to the wire. I like the power Johns brings and can mix the style of striking. I am edging John closely in this fight.

Ricky Turcios vs. Kevin Natividad

The last fight Ricky had was interesting where he is looking to bounce back in a huge way. Kevin is coming off two losses and don't see him getting any better here. Ricky is aggressive and won't stop until Kevin is out for the count. I don't see how Ricky losses and the grappling will be able to outlast Kevin.

Maria Oliveira vs. V. Demopoulos

Female fight! Demopoulos is on a two-fight win streak where she has looked good in her recent form. Demopoulos is an excellent grappler and tough all the way around. Maria is great on her feet and will push the pace fast, especially with her striking aspect. I am really liking the upside Maria brings to the table with her striking where she will want to keep this fight, I am liking Maria to edge this fight out.

Fernie Garcia vs. Brady Hiestand

Both of these fighters are coming off a loss. Brady has not fought in a minute and trying to make his way back into the cage. Garcia had a horrible loss coming into the UFC last fight. Garcia does have knockout power with his striking. Brady has good grappling and can push the pace in this fight. The troublesome part is Garcia can stuff the takedowns and work the striking aspect. This is a close fight and I am edging Garcia by a hair.

Natália Silva vs. Tereza Bledá

The first fight of the night! Bleda is young and coming off of DWCS. Silva is still new in the UFC also coming off of a win last fight. Silva is good on the feet and the striking is excellent. This is a good first female fight overall. Bleda is certainly live to earn a submission win on the ground because that is her game plan. Silva though will have to defend the takedown and outstrike on the feet. I do like Silva to handle this on the feet and win this fight with the knockout volume.
