UFC Vegas 55 Breakdown

Elise Reed VS Sam Hughes- First fight of the night! These fighters are very similar in their traits and fighting career. Reed's ground game is what worries me. Hughes on the other hand, striking defense worries me. Both fighters are coming off a win though. Reed does have good powerful hands and quick on her feet. This fight can go in multiple ways based on each fighter's game. I like Hughes slightly more so but close fight.

Chase Hooper VS Felipe Colares- Coming off almost a year layoff for Hooper, Hooper is a young kid who is working on his game. Colares is a power puncher that will come in with high intensity. Hooper is a grappling but striking is awful compared to Colares is the puncher. Colares is ready to go in this fight and he should hurt Hooper. I have to go with Colares here.

Jonathan Martinez VS Vince Morales- Both fighters are coming off of two wins in a row. Martinez with his striking has been fantastic and overall has a good game. Morales is growing in the cage and is looking better each time in the cage. Martinez should handle business in this spot with his fantastic striking game.

Omar Morales VS Uros Medic-Interesting fight to be honest. Morales is a striker on the feet which is what I like about him. Medic is coming off a bad loss to Turner. Medic is the younger fighter that is making me lean more so towards him. I think Medic can hang on the feet with Morales. He will bounce back from last fight and look at Turner now. Give me Medic.

Parker Porter VS Jailton Almeida- Big boy fight time! Almeida is making his heavy weight debut. Almeida is a heavy powerful fighter and has grappling in his back pocket. Porter is coming off a three fight win streak now. This is a step up in competition now for Porter. Almeida should handle this fight with ease.

Joseph Holmes VS Alen Amedovski- Not the greatest of fights. Holmes did not look good at all last fight in his loss. Alen is all over the place and super hard to trust. This fight is so low level to me. Holmes is okay and might get the better of Alen. Holmes needs this win and needs this for his fighting career.

Eryk Anders VS Jun Yong Park- Decent fight. Anders has power and the heavy underdog. Park is the accuracy type of fighter and very precise on his feet. This fight is going to be all on the feet. This is going to come down to if Anders can land the big shot or can Park work the jab? I like Park here who can work the striking output.

Polyana Viana VS Tabatha Ricci- Female fight! This is a good grappling match that is taking place. Ricci though has good boxing and has nice striking. Viana has uneasy striking defense which is where Ricci can win this. On the ground, the game between both girls is super close. Vianna does not have good takedown defense at all either. Give me Ricci to win this.

Chidi Njokuani VS Duško Todorović- Decent fight. Todorovic has not been a good fighter in the UFC at all. Chidi is a good fighter who is putting on a show in cage. The striking is nice and working his game in a big way. I don't see Todorovic hanging and Chidi can clip him easily.

Santiago Ponzinibbio VS Michel Pereira- The CO-Main! This is a very close fight based on the betting odds. Ponz is a striker and goes in doing whatever he can to get a win. He can work the leg kicks also. Pererira is a wild styled fighter in the cage doing flips. Pererria has amazing wins on his resume. I like what I see out of Michel.

Holly Holm VS Ketlen Vieira- The Main Event! Holm is the betting favorite in this matchup. Holm is natural in the cage and the mindset is there even at her age. Holm has losses to some of the best in the cage. Viera has some interesting losses. Give me Holly to take this with ease.
